Hidden away in the upper reaches of eastern Himachal Pradesh lies our Trans-Himalayan paradise destination – Spiti valley. Pristine and untouched in its essence, Spiti valley is a winter desert that is the pinnacle of serenity and a vivid taste of Mother Nature at its best. Long arid mountain sides with snow clad tops stretching for infinite miles, spiraling narrow roads alongside the gushing Spiti river and unbelievably breathtaking vistas that leave you not only mesmerized but at an utter lack of words. For anyone with an appetite for adventure, it is indeed an almost irresistible temptation.
This white peak towers at 20,000 ft above sea level and is one of the highest peaks in Spiti Valley. It is located behind Kibber, a small village in Spiti Valley and also the 3rd highest village in the world. Mt Kanmo trek is the most ideal way to enjoy a 6000 mt high altitude experience and lasts for about 3-5 days depending upon weather conditions.Popularly known as the “White Hostess”, the name Kanamo is derived from two words ‘Ka’ and ‘Namo’ meaning white or auspicious and the latter meaning hostess or lady. This particular mountain is considered to be a good omen by the locals living in this region and is supposed to be a symbol of great auspicious karma.

After a long night’s drive, you arrive at Manali, a beautiful hill station nestled in the Himalayas, which also acts as the gateway to Lahaul& Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.Once everyone gathers, we move to a local dhaba for a sumptuous breakfast, cease our movement in order to unwind and recharge our batteries for the action packed week ahead.
We now start our drive towards Batal today.After crossing Rohtang Pass we enter the Spiti valley. Witness the change in landscape, flora and fauna as we drive alongside the Chandra river to halt at Batal by evening. Rest for the night (Your body acclimatization has already started).
Today we start our journey to Kibber. Leave early morning from Bataltowards Chandertal – The Moon Lake.Chandertal is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in the Himalayas. Mountains of scree overlook the lake on one side, and a magnificent cirque presents a view on the other. The name of the lake originates from its crescent shape. Vast meadows on the banks of the lake are the camping sites. During springtime, these meadows are carpeted with hundreds of kinds of wildflowers.
After visiting Chandertal, we now drive towards Kunzum la. The road is one of the most scenic commutes in the world offering breathtaking vistas of waterfalls, snow clad passes, lush green valleys and high rise peaks. Reach Kibber village by late evening. Spend your evening resting and getting acclimatized to the environment. Overnight at a homestay.
Today you wake up to the beautiful views from Kibber village. Kibber is a village high in the Spiti Valley located at an elevation of 14,200 ft. It contains a monastery and the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Kibber lies in a narrow valley on the summit of a limestone rock.
After a heavy breakfast, it’s today that we start our trek towards Mt. Kanamo – The White Goddess. After having acclimatized properly for the past 2 days, you pack your necessary stuff and set off for the Base camp. Enjoy the breathtaking views enroute. The hike is of moderate level with gradual and steep patches along. Reach the base camp after 4-5 hrs. Rest and acclimatize.
An early morning start to the summit of Mt. Kanamo Peak. We continue our ascend towards the ridge leading to the top. A sharp climb uphill for atleast 3-4 hours and we’ll be rewarded with an astounding 360 degree view of mountain ranges of Lahaul, Kinnaur, Shimla & Kullu. Soak in the views and the beauty, for this will be etched in your memories forever. Retrace your footsteps back to the base camp and spend your evening celebrating the climb.
After a goodnight’s sleep, wake up to the beautiful scenery around. Have an appetizing breakfast and start your descend to Kibber village. Once there, take a hot water shower and relax your body. Spend your evening at leisure in the village, interacting with locals, watching large hordes of mountain cattle like Ibex, Blue Sheep (Bharals), Yaks and strolling around the mountains.
Today our Spiti valley adventure ends. Leave for Manali after an early breakfast. Reach Manali by late evening and spend the evening inthe hill station indulging in one of the zillion activities available. Overnight stay in Manali.
The day is at your disposal. Check-out of the hotel. Either catch an early morning bus to Delhi or go for an overnight journey after exploring the town during the day. All good things come to an end, but going back home is always comforting too. And what’s better? You’re going to have thousands of photographs to flaunt and uncountable memories to cherish for your life. Bid farewell to the mountains!

The participant is aware that the treks and related activities involve such risks and dangers; and that “Hippie in Hills”, within its limited capacity, takes viable measures to ensure the safety and comfort of the participants and to minimize the risks associated with these activities.
Understanding all the risks, dangers and related aspects mentioned in this section, registering and participating in of any of the services offered by “Hippie in Hills” constitutes a de-facto contractual arrangement between “Hippie in Hills” and the Participant. Accepting these terms and conditions denotes that the participant has understood all the terms & conditions mentioned hereafter, and that these terms and conditions shall be binding upon the participant at all times.
